Motor
yacht La Buscadora is renowned for it's all-inclusive unlimited
scuba diving. Leave the crowds behind and go off the beaten
path, the choices are endless. Even for those guests who have
never considered scuba diving or snorkeling before, you'll find
that Captain Mike's love of the water is infectious. He
loves to share the underwater world with the novice as much
as with the experienced diver.
He offers free resort courses while aboard the motor yacht La
Buscadora. Captain Mike has been a certified Dive Instructor
for 30 years and is proud of his perfect safety record.
Scuba
diving aboard this yacht is like no other. Our compressor is
of dive shop caliber and fills dive tanks in nine minutes. Your
scuba equipment is assembled and prepared for you. The
captain loves to pamper his guests by helping them remove their
equipment while still in the water so there's no struggling.
Boarding La Buscadora's tender is easy via a stainless steel
ladder with wide teak tread steps. Our tender boasts a 200 hp
outboard engine that propels her along at 30 knots full of dive
gear and guests. Our guests are not sitting on side pontoons
but rather in lovely upholstered seating with hold rails. The
ride is incredibly comfortable due to the extremely deep V ocean-going
hull. This is just one of the things that makes this yachting
holiday vacation a luxurious experience - there's no need to
be jealous of the mega yachts!
Each
day of diving is planned to your preferences. Do you like
early morning dives, or prefer a leisurely start to the day
and dive after a wonderful relaxing breakfast? Maybe you'd
like to dive three times a day, or just once a day. How about
night dives, dives with currents and wrecks? Perhaps you'd like
a tranquil swim with beautiful coral and lots of colorful tropicals.
You might want to go where the big rays, jewfish, turtles and
sharks hang out. All of these choices are yours aboard the dive
yacht La Buscadora.
Most
of the diving in the British Virgin Island's is 80ft and shallower.
Captain Mike also knows where there are beautiful wall dives
with a great abundance of black coral that no one else goes
to, where we have the option of going a bit deeper. He also
loves to take his guests to some of the fantastic wreck dives
in the BVI. Captain Mike has been diving from the Florida coast
to Venezuela for over 30 years and feels that the BVI truly
has some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean.
When
opportunity presents itself, Captain Mike loves to take his
digital underwater video camera along on the dive in order to
provide you with a video record of your diving experience aboard
Motor Yacht La Buscadora.
Here
in the British Virgin Islands, visibility is normally in the
60 to 100ft range with occasional days of 100 to 150ft. BVI
water temperature is consistently between 80 and 84 degrees.
In the winter months, which only consist of two, water temperature
may go down to 77 degrees. Many of our guests only wear Tshirts
or dive skins, at the most a shorty lightweight wetsuit will
probably keep you comfortable any time of the year. These are
not provided by motor yacht La Buscadora but the Captain is
glad to arrange for rentals for the duration of your trip.
All
the waters in the British Virgin Islands are protected under
the National Parks Trust, who works in association with the
BVI dive operators to protect the National Abundance of reefs.
Several special areas, such as the wreck of the Rhone, receive
extra protection as marine parks. As a result, divers enjoy
healthy reefs with an enormous variety of fish. Mooring boys
minimize anchor damage and regulations prohibit damaging or
removing any plant or animal, keeping the reefs packed with
life.
